An original artwork. This miniature enamel painting was awarded by The Sue Lee Award (with Tudor Rose) at the Annual Exhibition of Hilliard Society of Miniaturists (Wells, United Kingdom), and also at the 83rd Annual International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature in Washington, D.C., USA, in 2016.  The work was titled based on the old Ukrainian saying. The traditional costume of woman (18th century) created by the expert — designer Lyudmyla Sivtseva-Klymuk.The Hilliard Society is one of the foremost miniature art societies in the UK, bringing together miniature art collectors and artists from around the world, and dedicated to encouraging greater appreciation of this specialised art form. It was founded in 1982 in Wells, Somerset and in 2016 the Society celebrated it's 34th Anniversary. The name was chosen being appropriate to the South West as Nicholas Hilliard was born in Exeter, Devon and became portrait miniaturist to the court of Queen Elizabeth I.

About The Artist

True master of miniature enamel painting and portraits. Volodymyr Vanin is an Associate Member of Royal Society of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers (London, UK), Member of Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, D.C. (USA), Hilliard Society of Miniaturists (Wells, UK). He was born in 1965, studied at the art school named after Aivazovsky in Theodosius, graduated from the famous Fedoskino school of miniature painting (later named Fedoskino art-industrial school of miniature painting). After completion of the study at his 22 he opened a studio in Theodosius, executed private orders, interacted with the art fund and art galleries. In 1990 he moved to live and work in Belgrade (Serbia), where he spent 9 years.
